Superfit™ Adjustable Ring Shanks for Arthritic Joints
If finger joint swelling has made it difficult to wear your favorite rings — or kept you from purchasing that new ring you want — Lustig Jewelers can create a new ring or retrofit an existing ring with an adjustable shank.
Sizing a ring to pass over an enlarged knuckle is not a satisfactory solution: the ring ends up very loose where it is worn, turns on the finger, and needs constant correcting. Forcing a smaller size over the joint can cause severe pain, and if a tight ring is not removed, over time it may become "trapped" on your finger.
An Ingenious Positive Locking Clasp
Superfit™ adjustable shanks are hinged shanks with a positive locking clasp that closes with an audible "click." To open a Superfit, simply press the small recessed button with the tip of a ballpoint pen — the shank snaps open and allows the ring to be removed without having to pass over the finger joint.
We stock the most popular Superfit sizes to handle most retrofits. Superfits are available in a wide selection of widths, can be adjusted up or down one full size, and are also available by special order in platinum and 18K yellow gold.

Because pricing depends on the ring style and band width, we cannot provide a quote without seeing the intended ring. If you are in the Chicago area, please bring your ring to our store for our jewelers to evaluate. If you are unable to visit, we will ask for a photograph of the ring and a few details before providing a price quote.
