Open position: Senior Sales Associate — Diamonds, Engagement Rings & Fine Jewelry

Vernon Hills, IL · Full-time, in store · Tuesday–Saturday

We're looking for an experienced jewelry salesperson who loves helping people — someone who can walk a nervous first-time ring buyer through diamonds with patience and confidence, and who would rather earn a customer for life than win a single sale.

How we sell

We help people buy. Our customers walk in for some of the most meaningful purchases of their lives — an engagement ring, a 40th-anniversary gift, a grandmother's diamond reset for a granddaughter. They should leave feeling listened to and well taken care of, whether they bought today or not. No pressure, no scripts, and no “what would it take to get you into this ring today.”

What you'll do

• Sell diamonds, engagement rings, wedding bands and fine jewelry — consultatively, with real product knowledge
• Guide customers through diamond selection (the 4Cs, certification, natural vs. lab-grown) with honest, plain-English explanations
• Work with customers on custom-design and heirloom-redesign projects, and keep them in the loop from sketch to pickup
• Build and keep your own client book in Clientbook, our CRM — follow-ups, thank-you notes, anniversary and birthday reminders
• Write up and process your own sales, special orders and repair take-ins in our POS/CRM (we'll train you on our system)
• Take care of the everyday with the same warmth: greet everyone who walks in, take in watch batteries and repairs, do a complimentary cleaning and inspection
• Help keep the cases, displays and store looking their best; share opening and closing duties as a key-holder once you're settled in

Who you are

• 2+ years of fine-jewelry sales experience, with diamond and engagement-ring sales
• Solid working knowledge of diamonds, precious metals and how fine jewelry is made; GIA coursework is a plus
• An existing client book or local following is a plus, not a requirement
• Comfortable on a computer — you'll use our POS and CRM every day
• A teammate first. You celebrate someone else's sale, cover for each other, and leave your ego at the door.
• Patient, warm and a good listener. You can explain the difference between a VS1 and a VS2 without making anyone feel foolish.
• Reliable and trustworthy. Saturday is our busiest day, and you're there for it.
• Ready to hit the ground running — we'll show you our systems, but you already know how to sell jewelry

What we offer

• Base salary of $50,000–$70,000, depending on experience, plus commission and bonus opportunities. Realistic first-year earnings: $85,000–$100,000.
