Lustig Jewelers is a family jeweler in Vernon Hills, serving Lake County and Chicago's north suburbs since 1949. We handle jewelry repair, custom design and engagement rings in our own showroom, with a master jeweler working on-site. Many jewelry stores ship repairs to an outside shop. At Lustig, our jewelers work on-premises in the Vernon Hills showroom, so your ring, chain or heirloom stays in our hands from drop-off to pickup. Many repairs can be done while you wait.

Laser welding for delicate work

Our in-house laser welder lets us make precise repairs close to diamonds, gemstones and fine detail, often without removing stones. It's especially useful for antique and heirloom pieces that older repair methods could damage.

Custom design with 3D CAD

We design and build custom jewelry from scratch. You see your piece in 3D and approve it before a single stone is set. Bring a sketch, a photo or an old piece you'd like to repurpose, and we'll take it from there.

Lustig has served Chicagoland for more than 75 years. Since 2025 it has been owned by the Helfer family, who have been in the diamond business since 1933. We're members of Jewelers of America, the Illinois and Chicago Jewelers Association and the Jewelers Board of Trade.

Do you serve customers outside Vernon Hills?

Is jewelry repair done on-site?

Yes. Our jewelers work in the Vernon Hills showroom, and many repairs, like simple sizing and stone tightening, can be done while you wait. We always inspect your piece and explain your options before any work begins.

Can you repair a ring without removing the diamond?

Often, yes. Our laser welder allows precise repairs near stones and delicate settings, which is ideal for prong work, heirlooms and antique pieces. We'll inspect it first and tell you what's possible.

Do I need an appointment?

You're welcome to stop in during showroom hours for repairs, cleaning and inspections. For custom design and engagement ring consultations, we recommend booking ahead so we can give you our full attention.

Do you clean and inspect jewelry for free?

Yes. Cleaning and inspection are complimentary. A check every few months is a good habit for rings you wear daily, because worn prongs are a common reason stones come loose.
